Establishment

• The National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority (TANMIA) was established in accordance with a Decree issued by the President of the State (Federal Law No. 27)

• To provide quality services in areas related to training, career guidance and employment of national human resources to create a productive workforce capable of contributing to a competition- and skill-based national economy.

• Reduce the foreign component of the UAE labour force.

Jurisdiction

• Developing programmes for training and qualifying national jobseekers.
• Supporting small investment enterprises through the establishment of self-employment projects for national human resources.
• Providing career counseling and guidance to the national manpower.
• Following up and evaluating employment of nationals in the public and private sectors.
• Coordinating and influencing the programmes of the UAE training and educational institutions to serve the labour market needs.
• Setting up an overall policy for the Authority and supervising its implementation.

Roles & Partners

• Tanmia works on building bridges of constructive cooperation with employers in all sectors of the national economy as well as education and training institutions to provide qualified and creative national labour force to fulfill its functional and practical.
• Tanmia communicates with jobseekers, their families and society at large through guidance programs to achieve the required matching between occupation preferences and labour market requirements (supply & demand labour).

Tanmia Services

• Jobseekers: Training, Rehabilitation, Placement, Career Guidance & Technical Support of the Small & Medium Enterprises.
• Employers: Provision of qualified national workforce & provision of training to enhance their employability.
• Policy Makers: Provision of information & data bank regarding evolution of the labour market to enable policy makers in adopting necessary policies & majors to manage the country's labour market.

The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT)

The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) is the largest higher educational institution in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Established in 1988, HCT provides unmatched quality in education in an exciting, challenging and state of the art environment. Nearly 18,000 UAE National students attend classes which are located in 17 men’s and women’s campuses across the Emirates.

The HCT provides post-secondary programs in:

The language of instruction is English and programs are provided to a Western standard of education.

Zayed University

Zayed University was established in 1998 by the federal government of the United Arab Emirates to educate UAE national women. The University has campuses in Abu Dhabi and Dubai led by a single administration. In addition to offering a pre-academic program for English language (Academic Bridge Program) and a foundation program ( Colloquy on Integrated Learning) that prepares students for success in an academic field of their choice. The University also offers bachelor programs in different fields of Arts and Sciences, Business Sciences, Communication and Media Sciences, Education and Information Technology.

Zayed University is accepting applications from female undergraduate candidates of all nationalities. The University is also accepting applications from male undergraduate candidates beginning with the fall 2009 semester.

In partnership with prestigious international universities, graduate programs are offered in business administration, educational leadership, health care administration, finance, information and cyber security, innovation and entrepreneurship, international business, public administration, special education, and tourism communication to prepare participants for senior leadership roles. Graduate programs are tailored to the needs of professionals wishing to complete a top-quality academic program without interrupting their personal and professional lives – weekend classes or modular weeks of study are therefore the norm. Zayed University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and graduate programs are approved by the U.A.E. Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

United Arab Emirates University was established in 1976 by H.H. Sheik Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan (God bless his soul). United Arab Emirates University is the Unionist, Arabic and Islamic University, Lighthouse for Humanist thought, Pioneer center for the human wealth and cultural publication.

The University is the premier national university whose mission is to meet the educational and cultural needs of the UAE society by providing programs and services of the highest quality.

United Arab Emirates University has witnessed a comprehensive development in the academic programs and curricula offered by all of its faculties. The University has sixty five programs in Bachelor degree and two post graduate degrees ( Master & PHD) and it has nine colleges: (Humanities and Social Science, Sciences, Education, Business and Economics, Law, Food and Agriculture, Engineering, Information Technology, and Medicine & Health Science).

In addition, the United Arab Emirates University conducts an extensive internship program across the UAE.
