Sharjah Airport Authority launches initiative to Emiratise technical jobs

Sharjah Airport Authority has collaborated with Sharjah Driving Institute aimed at localising technical jobs in the Fire and Rescue Department.

The cooperation is part of the airport's strategy to qualify and attract Emirati cadres to various departments within the authority, in a bid to keep pace with the state’s directions in raising the percentage of Emiratisation.

This came at a meeting held at the airport administration building to discuss ways to improve cooperation in support of Emiratisation initiatives. It was attended by Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, alongside Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, Thabet Salem Al Tarifi, Chairman of the Sharjah Driving Institute and Tariq Abdul Rahman Al Saleh, Chief Executive Officer of the Sharjah Driving Institute and Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Al Kay, Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department in the Sharjah Police General Command.

Ali Salim Al Midfa said, "Sharjah Airport Authority, within the framework of the vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is working to enhance the participation of national cadres in various fields of work."

Sharjah Airport Authority remains keen to ensure that Emiratisation is at the core of its operational and development strategy. The strategy includes innovative programmes and initiatives to attract and train citizens to the highest international standards.

Ali Al Midfa added, "Sharjah Driving Institute's support for this initiative represents a new step to open employment opportunities for citizens, which would contribute to achieving sustainable development and enhancing the participation of national cadres in all departments."

The Sharjah Driving Institute has been a key contributor in supporting the Emiratisation initiative launched by the Sharjah Airport Authority, by allocating courses for the position of "fire truck driver" as part of the Sharjah Driving Institute plan to support Emiratisation initiatives in the public and private sectors.

Al Tarifi said that this initiative will not be the last because it is part of the institute’s strategic plan to support Emiratisation initiatives in the public and private sectors.
